In the vast ocean of technology, having a reliable crew is crucial. Join us #InsidetheArk as we set sail on a journey to get to know the Kubeark team: the individuals who bring their unique skills and expertise to the table, ensuring that our ship stays on course in the ever-evolving tech sea.

Today, we're sitting down with Diana Boier, QA Specialist at Kubeark. She plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and excellence of our platform - diligently testing and analyzing our software to find and report bugs. By collaborating closely with the development team, she drives tangible improvements and ensures Kubeark's software quality and functionality.

Diana, what’s something that has surprised you about your chosen career path?

When I first started my career, I never would have imagined that I would end up in a role as a Quality Assurance Specialist. My first job was an economist, and I had always thought that I would stay on that career path.

However, I was presented with an opportunity to transition into a role in QA, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I discovered that I have a natural aptitude for identifying and solving problems, and I find great satisfaction in knowing that I am contributing to the creation of high-quality software products. It's been a fulfilling journey, and I'm grateful for the unexpected turn my career has taken.

When I was in elementary school, I dreamed of becoming a travel guide. I have always had a passion for exploring new places and learning about different cultures, and I thought that being a travel guide would be a wonderful way to share that passion with others and help them discover the world. While my career path has taken me in a different direction, I still hold that love for travel and discovery close to my heart and make it a priority in my personal life.

Have you ever had to had to “unlearn” something in your professional life?

When I first started my career as an economist, I was taught to approach problems from a certain perspective and to apply a set of established methods and formulas. However, as I transitioned into my role as a Quality Assurance Specialist, I realized that this approach was not always effective in the context of software testing.

I had to unlearn my previous ways of thinking and adopt a more flexible, creative, and iterative approach to problem-solving. This process of "unlearning" was challenging, but it has also been incredibly rewarding, as it has helped me to grow as a professional and to become a more effective QA Specialist.

Mentoring and inspiration

I've received many valuable pieces of advice throughout my career, but one that has always stayed with me is to "never stop learning"This advice has been instrumental in helping me to continuously improve and evolve as a professional. Whether it's through attending training courses, reading industry publications, or seeking out mentorship and guidance from more experienced colleagues, I make it a priority to always be expanding my knowledge and skills. This has not only made me more effective in my work, but it has also made my career more fulfilling and rewarding. I truly believe that one can never stop learning, and I try to embody this mindset in everything I do.

What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?

One of my favorite inspirational quotes is "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." by Winston Churchill. This quote resonates with me because it emphasizes the importance of persistence and determination in the face of challenges and setbacks. I believe that success is not a destination, but rather a journey, and that it requires constant effort and determination. This quote reminds me that failures and obstacles are simply part of the process, and that what truly matters is the courage to keep moving forward and to never give up on my goals and aspirations.

Working at Kubeark

What’s the coolest or most interesting thing you’re working on right now?

I am testing a new software product that utilizes cutting-edge technology and innovative design, and I am finding it to be an exciting and engaging experience. I am enjoying the opportunity to work with a talented and dedicated team, and I am constantly learning and growing as a QA Specialist. It is particularly satisfying to know that I am contributing to the development of a product that has the potential to make a positive impact on the lives of its users.

First, the people. From my very first interactions with the team, I was  impressed by the level of talent, expertise, and passion that everyone at Kubeark possesses. I knew that I wanted to be a part of such a dynamic and driven team.

Second, I was drawn to the opportunity to grow and develop as a professional. Kubeark is a company that values continuous learning and growth, and I was excited by the prospect of being a part of an organization that prioritizes professional development. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Kubeark team, and I look forward to continuing to grow and learn as a part of this organization.

In what ways are you most thrilled to see Kubeark enable hyperscaling for its customers?

What's most thrilling is the impact it has on customers' businesses. Hyperscaling allows our customers to rapidly scale their operations to meet the demands of their customers, which in turn helps them to achieve their business goals quickly and effectively.

This is an incredibly exciting development, as it not only benefits our customers, but it also contributes to the overall growth and success of the technology industry. I am proud to be a part of an organization that is enabling such transformative change, and I am eager to continue to be a part of Kubeark's mission to help our customers achieve their full potential.

Life outside the Ark

I like to engage in a variety of activities such as reading, watching movies, or playing games. I find that these activities help me to relax and disconnect from work, allowing me to recharge and approach each new day with fresh energy and enthusiasm. Additionally, I believe that taking breaks and engaging in leisure activities is an important part of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

What’s your favorite hobby?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending my time pursuing my passions for reading and traveling. I find reading to be a great way to broaden my knowledge, improve my vocabulary, and stimulate my imagination. Additionally, traveling provides me with the opportunity to explore new cultures, learn about different ways of life, and gain a deeper appreciation for the world around me.

If you could live in any city, where would it be and why?

It would be difficult to choose just one. However, if I had to pick, I would say that I would love to live in a cosmopolitan city like Tokyo, Japan. I am fascinated by the unique blend of traditional and modern elements in Japanese culture, and I think that living in Tokyo would provide me with endless opportunities to learn and grow. The city's rich history, diverse food scene, and world-class infrastructure also make it an appealing place to live, in my opinion.
