Let’s meet Iulian Alexandru Ilie, our highly experienced Quality Assurance Manager.
As a Quality Assurance Manager at Kubeark, I use several skills and techniques to assure the highest product quality and reliability. My responsibilities consist in creating and implementing project-specific testing methodologies, analysis, and reporting. This requires working with our development team to understand our platform's features and functioning and with other QA team members to build and execute test plans that cover all elements of the product.
What is something that has surprised you about your chosen career path?
When I first started my career, I never would have imagined that I would end up in a role as a Quality Assurance Manager. My first job was as an simple tester, and I had always thought that I would stay on that career path.
However, I was presented with an opportunity to transition into a role in QA Manager/QA lead, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I discovered that I have a natural aptitude for coordinate and manage test teams and I find great satisfaction in knowing that I am contributing to the creation of high-quality software products. It's been a fulfilling journey, and I'm grateful for the unexpected turn my career has taken.
Mentoring and inspiration
What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
One of my favorite inspirational quotes is "Break your limits and then you will brake everything.”
I love this saying because it emphasizes personal progress. That reminds me that we should never settle for mediocrity or laziness and constantly seek to improve ourselves in all part of our lives. We should always push ourselves to improve in our personal and professional life.
By breaking our limits, we are opening ourselves up to new experiences, opportunities, and possibilities that we may not have otherwise considered. It takes courage to step out of our comfort zones and take risks, but it is through these challenges that we can discover our true potential and achieve great things.
Working at Kubeark
What’s the coolest or most interesting thing you’re working on right now?
At the moment, we are knee-deep in a brand new software product that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible. It's challenging, it's demanding, but luckily, I'm surrounded by an incredible team who are just as passionate as I am about making this thing a success. Together, we're learning and growing every day, and I couldn't be happier with the progress we're making!

I was thrilled to join Kubeark for two major reasons that really resonated with me. First and foremost, the people here are absolutely amazing! I'm thrilled about how Kubeark is enabling hyperscaling for our customers! It's so exciting to see the positive impact it has on their businesses. What's more, this development doesn't just benefit our customers - it's contributing to the growth and success of the entire technology industry! Life outside the Ark
After a long day at work, there is nothing quite like spending time with my son to help me unwind and de-stress. Whether we're just with his toys or building towers with Legos, spending time with him helps me forget about the stresses of the day and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
What did you want to be when you grew up when you were in elementary school?
When I was in elementary school, I dreamed of becoming a football player. I have always had a passion for football. While my career path has taken me in a different direction, I still hold that love for football and going to football matches.
What’s your favorite hobby?
My favourite hobbies are: football, Kickboxing, travelling and hiking.
If you could live in any city, where would it be and why?
For me, it's difficult to choose just one. However, if I had to pick, I would say that I would love to live in a cosmopolitan city like Barcelona, Spain.
